Kernels past 2.6.37 require passing parameters through grub due to IRQ conflicts (apparent) with video controller. pci=noapci seems to work, as does acpi=off (but pci=noacpi seems preferable since fewer acpi functions are disabled). (2011-07-03T20:53:58+00:00)
