I am currently trying to get things working, but can't seem to get the installer to detect the CD-ROM even when booting from the CD-ROM. When booting from a USB drive I can sometimes get farther, but then I could not get the network adapter to be detected (and the network light on my DSL router for the port is not lit up).
I notice that the BIOS has some settings for choosing a mode relating to the hard drive to be IDE, AHCI, Linux AHCI, or something else. Depending on how I set this I get different values for the device as position 09.0. This is the device in the list above which is 10de:0550. It also shows up as 10d3:0584 when I select a different mode. Perhaps I can get more information on this if you want. You can email me at cmbeelby@gmail.com
